Beyond the virus: Social and behavioural science lessons from mpox

This 90-minute webinar will convene grantees from our mpox research portfolio to share key findings, methodological innovations and operational lessons, with invited discussants synthesising implications for future outbreak-responsive research funding.
The session:
This event is designed as a learning-focused conversation, reflecting on cross-cutting lessons from conducting social and behavioural science in the context of an active outbreak response. The speakers will cover a range of topics including:
- How research was embedded within response systems
- How partnerships and equity considerations were navigated
- What enabled findings to inform real-world decision making
We will hear short presentations from our speakers followed by discussant reflections and a moderated Q&A. The session will be delivered in English and French, with subtitles available.The session will be recorded and shared publicly. Please note that speakers are subject to change.

- Mr Diogratias Kakule, World Health Organization: Leads rapid qualitative research in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), development of adaptable social and behavioural science protocols, and work to support uptake into response guidance
