This field report examines the health and social conditions of Yemeni women aged 15-24, comparing internally displaced persons (IDPs) with host communities across Aden, Hadhramaut, and Mareb governorates.

Linked to this study on early marriage and childbearing the report aims to:

  • Explore how conflict and displacement affect early marriage and childbearing patterns.
  • Understand fertility intentions and reproductive health service utilisation.
  • Build evidence for adolescent sexual and reproductive health programs in humanitarian settings.

The study employed mixed methods including cross-sectional household surveys (1,616 households), in-depth interviews (90 IDIs), and key informant interviews (30 KIIs) conducted in August 2023.

The study reveals critical insights into how displacement impacts marriage timing, educational attainment, reproductive health behaviors, and service access among young Yemeni women, providing essential data for targeted intervention programmes in conflict-affected populations.
