Humanitarian Innovation

Innovation in humanitarian settings is rarely straightforward. It happens in unpredictable contexts, within complex systems, and often without clear cause-and-effect. That’s why innovation is best seen as a process of continuous learning; testing, adapting, and testing again.

But too often, valuable evidence generated through this process fails to reach its full potential. In tough environments, with limited resources and urgent demands, teams may not have the time or tools to make the most of what they’re learning. Nuanced qualitative insights can also be difficult to capture and feed back into decision-making, resulting in missed opportunities and lessons lost.

Our new toolkit, Evidence-based decision-making, is designed to change that. It offers practical, easy-to-use tools to help innovation teams process, analyse and apply their evidence more effectively. By making evidence central to everyday decisions, innovators can strengthen the relevance, scalability and impact of their ideas, and boost their chances of sustainable use and success.
