Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Office for Indonesia and the Philippines (ASB) conducted participatory research with persons with disabilities from the Working Group of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in Palu, Sigi, Donggala, Central Sulawesi.

As a result of this research, ASB created a range of resources providing tips for participatory research with people with disabilities, which chronicle their experiences of co-researching through documentation of reflections, lessons learned and examples of practices. These resources can be used as references for participatory research, particularly in the field of humanitarian response and social inclusion.

Given the lack of research practices that prioritise the meaningful involvement of persons with disabilities in all stages and key processes of research, such documentation is essential.

ASB’s research is part of its Elrha-funded project, “Investing in Inclusive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)”.
