Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in post-conflict and post-disaster settings is frequently overlooked, and there is a lack of an evidence base for interventions that improve MHM of women and girls in emergencies. In response to this issue, the IFRC developed and initiated a pilot project around MHM in emergencies in late 2012. The IFRC secured funding from the Humanitarian Innovation Fund and British Red Cross to scale-up the menstrual hygiene management project and to conduct additional field-research on MHM kits, including in Somalia. This final project report provides information on the project methodology, activities, outputs, impact and dissemination of learning.
