Valeria Izzi

Valeria Izzi joined Elrha in February 2023. As MEAL Manager, Valeria leads on Elrha’s work in measuring the impact of our work in Research and Innovation, ensuring that our MEAL systems and processes are fit for purpose to generate evidence and learning.

Prior to joining Elrha, Valeria spent a few years as a research and evaluation consultant. Throughout her career, she has worked in international development with UN agencies, NGOs and academia, with a focus on post-conflict peacebuilding and development effectiveness in fragile and post-conflict contexts.  

Valeria holds a MSc in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a PhD in International Law and Politics from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy.

Valeria is passionate about equitable, fair, and inclusive processes of evidence generation, and about the way in which evidence can be used to acknowledge both its potential and its limits, to meaningfully inform decisions for better social outcomes.
