Shivani Patel

Shivani joined Elrha in 2025 as a Research Manager in the Humanitarian Futures team, leading the research and innovation (R&I) portfolio for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and undernutrition in humanitarian crises. She works closely with regional research actors, community innovators, and global policy stakeholders to ensure R&I is impactful, inclusive, and grounded in humanitarian realities.

A medical doctor with an MSc from the London School of Economics, she brings extensive experience in humanitarian health across diverse global contexts. Before joining Elrha, she most recently supported medical operations for Venezuelan refugees on the Colombia border and conducted consultancy work on migrant-inclusive primary healthcare with the WHO.

Shivani is a strong advocate for de-colonisation, localisation, and collaborative partnerships - committed to translating evidence and innovation into practical, equitable action for crisis-affected populations.
