Dan Amias

Dan joined Elrha in early 2024 as a Senior Innovation Learning Adviser, focusing on AI innovations and is now Elrha's Digital Innovation Adviser. He's responsible for guiding the organisation's approach to responsible AI and digital innovation across its humanitarian research and funding programmes. He works closely with grantees, programme teams and sector partners to ensure digital tools are ethical, inclusive and grounded in real operational contexts.

Dan brings a background spanning product management, international development and humanitarian innovation, including leading the development of TheTeacher.AI in Sierra Leone and managing Elrha's AI grants to date. He is fluent in four languages and has worked across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

A particular passion for translating complex technical concepts into practical, accessible guidance shapes much of Dan's work at Elrha, whether through toolkit development, grantee accompaniment or sector-wide learning initiatives such as the AI Lighthouse.
