The revised project proposal incorporating all the changes and recommendations from the NGOAB and Ministry of Disaster Management &; Relief with the corresponding budget was submitted to HIF for approval. In the meantime, the project team and its partners continued with their efforts to garner the necessary Ministerial approval. However it became evident that with the preparation for the upcoming general elections in January 2014, any action pertaining to the decision making and approval of the project will only commence after the elections. Further delays were also anticipated due to the designated officials that were expected to take time to settle in and resume office after the election results.

Meanwhile, the project team prepared and submitted the 5th interim report for the period between September and November 2013. The report emphasised the challenges with the project approval process and the on-going household surveys being undertaken.
