Ian de la Rosa- Deputy Country Representative for the Palestinian Territory at Catholic Relief Services

Over the summer, CRS (Catholic Relief Services) informed key humanitarian assistance stakeholders of the securing Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) for Gaza Risk Reduction And Mitigation (GRRAM).

In October, CRS held one-on-one meetings with key humanitarian assistance actors and universities to jointly review the proposal and agree to meet in late November.

Key humanitarian assistance actors, universities, and NGOs were invited to participate in three day-workshop November 1- 3, 2011. The workshop will be facilitated by Amy Hilleboe, CRS Senior Technical Advisor for Disaster Risk Reduction, and will cover CRS’s livelihoods (Integral Human Development) and disaster risk reduction (DRR) models, along revising the GRRAM Operation Manual and developing tools.

Operationally, CRS has completed hiring 1 Project Officer and 2 Project Coordinators. With a full staff, CRS is currently negotiating a sub-award agreement with partners and intends to sign following the Eid holidays.
