R2HC Current or Anticipated Health Crises Funding Call - Full Proposal Guidance
R2HC aims to improve health outcomes by strengthening the evidence base for public health interventions in humanitarian crises. We are looking for research proposals that respond to a current or anticipated health crisis in a humanitarian setting. Proposals should be context specific and driven by evidence needs identified by stakeholders to inform response to the crisis in real-time.

Congratulations on your successful Expression of Interest. This page is intended for applicants who have been invited to develop and submit a Full Proposal under the Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) programme's 2022 Call for research in response to current or anticipated humanitarian health crises. The deadline for the submission of the Full Proposal is 17:00 GMT on 6 July 2022. No extensions to this deadline will be granted, and applications submitted after this date will not be eligible for consideration for funding. All applications must be submitted via the Common Grant Application system. Please read the information below carefully before developing your application. It includes information on the application process, the forms to be completed, and further guidance to help you prepare a strong application.

Yes, changes to the budget are possible between Expression of Interest and Full Proposal stages.
Yes. Letters of support from the partners and research users (key stakeholders) are required at the Full Proposal stage.
All application must be submitted via our online platform, the Common Grant Application. The link to the Full Proposal will be available on this page by 12 May 2022.
Applicants may request support for personnel costs, travel, data collection and analysis, reasonable equipment purchases, and other items to cover the full research costs in the relevant setting. The R2HC will not generally pay for the costs of interventions, except in limited cases where a small trial pilot is needed.
Each Full Proposal will be reviewed by our external Technical Experts. A rebuttal stage will allow you to respond to the Technical Reviewer\'s comments and questions. Our Funding Committee will then review each application in detail and final decisions will be made during Funding Committee meetings held in September 2022.
Proposals can be for a maximum duration of up to 18 months, during which research and uptake activities should take place.
Applicants will be informed of decisions by mid-October 2022. We anticipate successful studies starting from January 2023 onwards.
We recommend that you share a copy of the draft contract with your relevant legal / contracts team. A copy and further information regarding our due diligence process can be found here.
You must provide a CV for each member of the research team using the template provided.
Yes. R2HC will reimburse the cost of translating Letters of Support into English. Please see more information in the guidance note.
