This research proposes to evaluate the effectiveness of a de-escalating violence training for healthcare workers in combination with an organisational level intervention that may further contribute to curb the violence.
One component of this is the participatory development of codes of conduct to be displayed in health facilities and hospitals. These codes of conduct are now available for Iraq, having been developed through consultation meetings with community members and health personnel. One code of conduct was developed for visitors to health facilities, and the other for health care workers.
