The IFRC has published a guide that aims to provide comprehensive guidance and practical tools for designing and implementing appropriate, comprehensive and effective MHM action in humanitarian contexts, adapted for the Red Cross Red Crescent context.

Programme and operations managers (male and female) from all areas working to prepare for or respond to MHM needs of women and girls can use this guide, including:

  • Water, sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH)
  • Protection, gender and inclusion (PGI)
  • Shelter and Non Food Items
  • Health, including sexual and reproductive health (SRH)
  • Psycho-social support (PSS)
  • Education

This guide and practical tools aim to complement existing resources.
