New R2HC funding calls announced for 2022

Photo credit: Marion Vera Aluoch/World VisionWe have recently launched two Research for Health in Humanitarian Crisis (R2HC) funding calls and we are seeking expressions of interest to strengthen the public health evidence within the humanitarian sector. The deadline for submitting proposals is Tuesday 15 March 2022. These proposals must emphasise the demand for evidence, address priority humanitarian health evidence gaps and plan for the rapid uptake and application of research findings within humanitarian health policy, programming, and/or practice. Proposals focusing on the needs of women and girls are particularly encouraged. The studies will be up to 18 months in length. These funding calls are now open:

R2HC CALL FOR RESEARCH TO STRENGTHEN HEALTH SYSTEMS

We aim to contribute to better health outcomes for people affected by crisis through research that will identify the most pressing issues in health and strengthen existing evidence. Addressing leading causes of morbidity and mortality, your research question will seek to improve the functioning of a health system and health outcomes in a humanitarian setting by addressing one or more health system building blocks.  Applicants should apply a  systems thinking approach to explore the impact of interventions to improve health outcomes in complex, real-world humanitarian settings.  Proposals should be informed by the needs of people who use the health system in the humanitarian setting(s) in which your study will be conducted, and applicants should engage with relevant stakeholders to determine the key health system challenge to be addressed. R2HC CALL FOR RESEARCH IN RESPONSE TO CURRENT OR ANTICIPATED HEALTH CRISIS

Addressing leading causes of morbidity and mortality, proposals must respond to a globally recognised current or anticipated health crisis in a humanitarian setting. This will be an ongoing humanitarian crisis or an anticipated impending crisis.
