As COVID-19 continues to spread across many countries, there is new information every day about how the situation is changing.Many organisations are creating and sharing resources to support response efforts to COVID-19, so we've pulled some of them together here to support your work.We will continue to add to this page. CDAC Network (Communicating with Disaster Affected Communities)
- See their dedicated resource hub, created to support and inform the sector.
Reliefweb
- Have also got a COVID-19 resource hub.
ALNAP
- Created a response portal with guidelines and tools
- Have a webinar on '14 actions for humanitarians responding to Covid-19'
Kaya and Save the Children
- Their COVID-19 Learning Pathway aims to enable humanitarians, including local responders, to be best equipped to respond to COVID-19.
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)Researchers at LSHTM are supporting humanitarian actors to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- They have developed a free online course looking at how to respond to coronavirus.
- They have published a viewpoint on realistic options for managing COVID-19 in low-income and crisis settings.
- They are assisting humanitarian actors by offering no-cost advice on response strategies and technical guidelines, and supporting evaluation of response options using mathematical modelling (real-time outputs are available here).
Hygiene Hub
- Together with the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) and the WASH'Em team, LSHTM have also created the COVID-19 Hygiene Hub. The Hub draws on scientific, operational, and creative expertise from a network of organisations.
Nuffield Council on Bioethics
Funds for NGOs
- Have compiled a list of recently opened funding opportunities related to tackling the coronavirus outbreak.
HelpAge International
- Have created guidance and advice for older people, particularly focusing on countries with less developed health systems.
National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine
- Curated a literature hub, LitCovid, for tracking up-to-date scientific information about the 2019 novel Coronavirus. Updated daily.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) resources
- The Gender-Based Violence Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR) has collated several resources specifically addressing coronavirus (COVID-19) and GBV.
- The Gender-Based Violence Community of Practice (GBV CoP) has also created a COVID-19 Dropbox folder full of helpful resources.
UKCDR
- Have launched a tracker with GLoPID-R for funded research projects on COVID-19.
ODI
- Have started a new blog series that brings together a range of experts to critically examine the impacts of the coronavirus, including what lessons can be learned from Ebola.
COVID-19 and the Core Humanitarian Standard
- CHS Alliance have information on how to meet CHS commitments in the coronavirus pandemic.
- Sphere have also written COVID-19 guidance based humanitarian standards.
International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA)
- Published a note on localisation in the COVID-19 humanitarian response.
Humanitarian Healthcare Ethics
- Have a one page summary outlining what characterises an effective research ethics review of urgent protocols during a crisis.
Global WASH Cluster
- Has created a centralised hub for WASH specific resources for COVID-19 response.
Oxfam
- Have also created a hub of WASH resources to support humanitarians responding to the pandemic
- Their Policy & Practice team have created a resource to support community engagement during COVID-19
National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (US)
- NIH's Disaster Research Response (DR2) programme has put together a collection of tools related to COVID-19 research for investigators.
Journal of Migration and Health
- Have waived all open access fees until December 2020.
University of New South Wales, Deborah Lupton
- Has created a guidance document titled 'Doing fieldwork in a pandemic' on innovative social research methods with contributions from social researchers (Google Docs).
MINDThe uncertainty and disruption of COVID-19 can cause additional stress and anxiety.
- Mental health charity, MIND, have a hub of advice and resources to support your wellbeing.

Mitigating Operational Challenges in Humanitarian Health Research
Our recently-published Mitigating Operational Challenges in Humanitarian Health Research report looks at challenges our funded research teams have faced and solutions they adopted, providing practical guidance and suggestions for anyone undertaking research in emergency settings. Many of these challenges are likely to be similar to those faced during the COVID-19 outbreak. We have also produced a series of easy-to-read briefing sheets (available under the Briefing Sheet section) which summarise the most common challenges, impacts and mitigating strategies.
