Overview

We is a global organisation that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. Through our globally recognised programmes, we have supported more than 200 research studies and innovation projects, championing new ideas and different approaches to evidence what works in humanitarian response.

The Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) is a globally recognised programme leading on the development and testing of innovation in the humanitarian system. Established in 2011, it was the first of its kind: an independent, grant-making programme open to the entire humanitarian community.

We are commissioning this work to expand the reach and use of priority HIF publications and learning products to Francophone, Arabic-speaking and Spanish-speaking audiences.

Objective

We are seeking a Service Provider to deliver the following Services:

  • Translate and proofread 27 documents (approx. 184,424 English-source words) from English into French, Spanish and Arabic.
  • Apply robust quality assurance (terminology, numbers, references, formatting; right-to-left handling for Arabic).
  • Return final files in our existing templates and/or supplied InDesign packages, including editable files and final PDFs.

  • AI learning journey: grantee reflections (10)
  • Innovation Forum outputs (4)
  • Adopting humanitarian innovation: report, executive summary
  • Scale back catalogue (Too Tough to Scale?; Impact Evidence and Beyond; Failure to Scale)
  • Toolkits, guides and methodology outputs (including Futures and Foresight; Evidence-Based Decision-Making; Value for Money
  • Climate adaptation in WASH: full, supplementary, executive summary

Timeline

Deadline for proposals: 23:59 GMT on Monday 2 February 2026

Anticipated start: 9 February 2026

Delivery period: 9 February - 18 March 2026 (translation and proofreading)

Final deliverables: 20 March 2026
