HIF Call for Proposals

Published on 19/10/2015

Do you have a creative solution to humanitarian needs – an innovation that could help people in crises?

The Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF), managed by ELRHA, supports organisations and individuals to identify, nurture and share innovative and scalable solutions to the challenges facing effective humanitarian assistance.

The HIF is pleased to announce that its 10th call for applications is open. Over the past five years we have awarded over 60 grants to organisations working across the humanitarian system, from developing a rapid response wheelchair package to improving menstrual hygiene in emergency contexts.

Develop and Implement YOUR idea

Grants from £75,000 to £150,000 are available to develop and/or implement an innovation in humanitarian settings:

Develop an innovation by creating practical, actionable plans and guidelines. For instance transforming designs from the drawing board into real-world solutions.

Implement an innovation in a humanitarian setting to produce real examples of changed practice, testing the innovation to see how it compares to existing solutions. Often pilot projects are used to establish how an innovation performs in practice – indicating whether it is successful and should be scaled-up.

Listen to our webinar

Our webinar on the 15th October explained the application process step-by-step, described how to turn your ideas into well articulated applications, and gave listeners an opportunity to get their questions answered.
