This one-page briefing sheet lists some of the study component challenges involved with conducting research in humanitarian settings. It outlines the impacts of these challenges, and some mitigation strategies that R2HC-funded research teams have employed in response.

Though support for humanitarian research is growing in the sector, conducting research in humanitarian settings is still far from easy with researchers facing barriers from insecurity and inability to access affected people, to staffing and communication issues.
