Shaping the future: Our strategy for research and innovation in humanitarian response.
Self Help Plus (SH+) is a low intensity intervention developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for managing stress and coping with adversity. It consists of 5 audio-recorded sessions and illustrated self-help book delivered in large workshops by a minimally trained lay provider.
This booklet presents case studies from HealthRight International’s work to rollout Self Help Plus (SH+) with refugees in Uganda. It showcases the testimonials of people who have benefitted from completing the SH+ intervention as a result of Elrha’s funding under the SH+ 360 innovation project, and through research testing the delivery of SH+ combined with a substance misuse intervention (ASSIST-BI) for refugee men.
