Shaping the future: Our strategy for research and innovation in humanitarian response.
November 2013
The project team met with all its partners and agreed to terminate its MOUs with CGC and SSD Tech as their roles had become redundant with the introduction of new operating modalities and the changing operational context. The decision was taken and executed in a transparent and participatory manner with the appropriate consent of all the relevant parties concerned.
The tripartite collaboration with the Comprehensive Disaster Management programme (CDMP) and Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES) that had been pursued by the project in order to facilitate the approval and implementation of the HIF project did not materialise as CDMP decided to focus their work with RIMES. Subsequently the project team met with Mr. Shamsuddin Ahmed, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) to formalise an agreement and delineation of roles and responsibilities between the project and the BMD in the dissemination of early warning messages at the community level.
The project team continued to collect household level data to develop and generate the relevant baseline information while waiting for the approval of the project.
