Ziad Issa

Ziad serves as a Senior Programme Manager at Elrha. He joined us in 2021 as the Research Manager for the Global Prioritisation Exercise, an ambitious research programme that aims to support the global humanitarian community to identify priorities for research and innovation funding. Ziad leads on the strategic development, operational management and delivery of this initiative.

Prior to joining us, Ziad worked for several years with civil society and humanitarian organisations in Syria, gaining first-hand experience in conducting research and designing interventions in situations of conflict. Ziad completed his undergraduate training as a pharmacist and received an MSc in Global Health and Development from University College London.

Ziad’s passion to create a more inclusive humanitarian system is helping him bring the voices of communities affected by crisis into the research and innovation policy conversation.
