Shaping the future: Our strategy for research and innovation in humanitarian response.
Vi joined Elrha in 2024 as Innovation Manager with the Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF). She leads on supporting the development and scaling of innovative water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) responses and solutions in humanitarian settings.
Previously, Vi worked for two international innovation funds that catalysed innovative market-based approaches and solutions to WASH and sustainability. She has worked with social entrepreneurs and the private sector on innovative WASH solutions in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as with global sustainability systems on creating more inclusive and sustainable supply chains.
She has over 10 years of experience in working with organisations on collaborative learning, co-developing innovative solutions and transforming complex information into actionable knowledge. Vi also holds a doctorate in biological engineering where she researched the transformation of faecal sludge into renewable energy in peri-urban areas in sub-Saharan Africa.
Vi is passionate about working closely with innovators to learn what works and what does not work in innovation, and how these learnings can inform better innovation practices.
