Do you have significant experience of designing and delivering structured innovation processes? Can you bring sensitive, technical expertise in delivering programmes concerned with improving outcomes, ideally in one of our strategic themes: GBV, WASH or inclusion? Do you have the skills to manage a high performing team?  

Elrha is looking for an experienced Senior Innovation Manager to apply their skills in Elrha’s fast-paced and creative Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF). This is not a fundraising role; the HIF aims to improve outcomes for people affected by humanitarian crises by identifying more effective and scalable innovative solutions. 

This role line manages a team of Innovation Managers who are passionate about identifying the most pressing humanitarian problems, analysing opportunities for innovation, working with sector experts to investigate solutions and designing funding calls to address them. The role holder will also manage their own innovation focus area.  

We are looking for exceptional candidates with a good mix of skills and experience across three areas: innovation, sensitive programme management, and people management. 

 

  1. Innovation: You will bring significant experience of developing innovation journeys and bringing ideas from conception to completion. Candidates will need a firm strategic, theoretical and practical grasp of key innovation concepts, tools and approaches, and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders and audiences. The role will allow you to deepen your knowledge and contribute to the global conversation on innovation in humanitarian response.
  2. Programme management: It is essential that you have experience of managing sensitive and complex projects in an ethical and thoughtful way.  Ideally you will demonstrate technical knowledge within at least one of our strategic themes of Gender Based Violence (GBV), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), inclusion and protection of vulnerable or marginalised groups. The role presents the opportunity to develop this expertise further and act as a key influencer for Elrha in this area.
  3. People management: You will show ability to manage, motivate and develop a team, building shared objectives and delivering impact in line with organisational priorities. The role will enable you to hone your management and leadership skills, and support others to achieve their aims.

Remote Working

Salaries and benefits 

Jobs are positioned within the salary structure on the basis of evaluation. New employees will usually be appointed at the bottom of the grade, however the appointed salary may also take into account the relevant experience a candidate brings to a role. Elrha is committed to paying staff in a fair and equitable way and will benchmark all salary offers in line with the pay of existing staff. 

Elrha also has a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days holiday entitlement which increases year on year, 5% employer pension contribution (3% employee contribution) and life cover.

  • a satisfactory police record check to include a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or an International Criminal Record Check (If applicable)
