Are you a talented communicator who can tell a compelling story about our work? Are you good at thinking creatively about the best ways to get our messages out through traditional and online media? Are you someone who can plan, deliver and evaluate a range of communications projects?
We are looking for a highly experienced Communications Officer who is ready to apply their skills and experience in an exciting humanitarian start-up.
Launching in 2021, the UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub will bring together the humanitarian sector and the UK’s expertise in technology, science and innovation to support people impacted by crises. The Communications Officer will play a key role, supporting the Hub’s engagement by planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating a range of targeted external communications activities, as well as establishing and strengthening engagement between Hub members and supporting internal communications needs.
This post requires an individual looking for a challenging role, who is ready to take on this exciting and varied opportunity supporting a busy and ambitious team. You will be particularly skilled at multi-channel communication campaigns, as well as managing an online presence and producing publications.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience working in a communications role within a charity or third sector organisation. You will be given a high degree of autonomy in your work and it is essential that you feel confident working independently and within a team. Our staff are key to our success, and we recognise this through investing in training, development and strong line management support. If you are passionate about communications and making a difference in the humanitarian sector, we’d love to hear from you.
The Hub is hosted by Elrha and is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Please note: Due to COVID-19 we are all currently working remotely, so this role will initially be home-based. When deemed safe and appropriate to do so, the role will be based in our London office and there will be some UK travel involved in this role.
