International Working Forum on Humanitarian Professionalisation

ELRHA followed the publication of Professionalising the Humanitarian Sector: A scoping study by hosting an international working forum on Humanitarian Professionalisation on the 22nd June 2010. The objective of the Forum was to provide the working space for the international humanitarian community to explore and agree the next steps to take forward the professionalisation agenda.

The working Forum was the first opportunity to formally consult with a wider humanitarian audience on the findings and recommendations of our scoping study. The event also provided a platform to gather advice on the best process to take the initiative forward. The feedback from the delegates on the day was rich and detailed and has proven extremely useful in shaping the next steps for this process.

Please find below links to the Forum report and the presentation slides from the day (with corresponding transcription notes). The report provides a detailed record of the day and also includes our proposed plan to further develop of work on humanitarian professionalisation.
