The assessment of research proposals is conducted by an independent Funding Committee. The Funding Committee comprises experts in humanitarian health, acting in an independent personal capacity, drawn from academic institutions, NGOs and governmental organisations.
In addition to the funding committee, the R2HC draws upon a wider pool of technical experts in specific areas to help ensure a robust review of proposals.
The Chair of the R2HC Programme Funding Committee reports to the R2HC Advisory Group.
The Funding Committees have the authority to make funding decisions up to the amounts agreed in the budget. Its decision-making must follow the agreed process, which varies depending on the size of the grant, but in all cases is independent, transparent and pre-agreed.
