International Humanitarian Law online course with PHAP
The International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP) is pleased to announce the launch of its first online course, which focuses on the core principles and concepts of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). This course has been produced in collaboration with the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research (HPCR) at Harvard University.
This introductory course is designed for professionals engaged in humanitarian assistance and protection at an operational or policy level. Offering a concise and accessible review of all the major principles and concepts of IHL, it will assist anyone in need of a clear understanding of this domain of international law, which is of particular relevance to the work of those engaged in humanitarian action in situations of armed conflict.
The first set of seven sessions has been released and is available now to all current and incoming PHAP members. A second set of seven sessions is due to be released in March 2011. PHAP members who successfully complete all 14 sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion of the Online Course.
This online course is offered exclusively to PHAP members, as a benefit of membership, at no additional costs. If you are not yet a member of PHAP, you may access a sample session of the online course.
