Frances has an exceptionally strong background in research and development, and a long history of working on development programmes with international NGOs. Previously Frances was the Executive Director of the Development Studies Association which is the largest national platform for people studying, teaching and researching development issues. She has been responsible for developing effective partnerships between the producers and the users of development research and has organised regular research seminars, workshops and large scale conferences for the Development Studies Association.
Through her role with the DSA Frances has developed excellent networks with the key funding bodies and individuals in the UK research arena. She has also worked as a consultant with DFID, the ODI and other international NGOs.
Frances holds an MSc in Development Studies, from Bath University, and a BA (Hons) in Archaeology from Durham.
